The Baby-sitters Club Main Series: Books #11-20

#11 Kristy and the Snobs

"Nobody's going to tell Kristy what to do-
especially not the Snobs!"

Kristy's mom got married again last summer and now Kristy and her family live in a new neighborhood. The kids aren't very friendly. In fact, they're...well, snobs. They criticize Kristy's clothes. They make fun of the Baby-sitters Club. And worst of all, they laugh at Louie, Kristy's pet collie, who's going blind. Nobody does that and gets away with it!

Kristy's fighting mad- and she's not going to put up with it much longer. If anybody can beat a Snob Attack, it's the Baby-sitters Club. And that's just what they're going to do!

#12 Claudia and the New Girl

"Claudia might give up on the Club-
and it's all the new girl's fault!"

Claudia has always been the most outrageous kid in her class...until Ashley Wyeth comes along. Ashley's really different- she wears hippie clothes, has six holes in her ears, and is the most fantastic artist Claudia has ever met.

Ashley says Claudia has artistic talent, too. She thinks Claudia should spend more time on her "calling" and forget about the Baby-sitters Club: It's just a waste of time.

The Baby-sitters are sick of Ashley Wyeth, and they think Claudia's a traitor. Claudia's got to decide: either the Baby-sitters Club or the new girl- one of them's got to go!

#13 Good-bye Stacey, Good-bye

"How do you say good-bye to your very best friend?"

Oh, no! Stacey McGill is moving back to New York! That means no more Stoneybrook Middle School, no more Charlotte Johanssen, and worst of all...no more Baby-sitters Club!

Stacey's friends are crushed when they hear that Stacey's moving, Claudia most of all. Stacey was her first best friend.

How will the Baby-sitters cope without Stacey? What kind of going-away present is good enough for someone as special as she is? But most important...

...Who is going to be the next member of the Baby-sitters Club?

#14 Hello, Mallory

"Why are the Baby-sitters making it so hard for Mallory to join their club?"

Mallory Pike has always wanted to be a member of the Baby-sitters Club. The Baby-sitters are so much fun to be around, and so grown-up. Now the club members have invited Mallory to a meeting. This might be her big chance!

But the Baby-sitters don't make it easy. First Claudia makes Mal feel like a baby on her first official baby-sitting job. Then they give her a written test- with questions nobody could answer!

Mallory's beginning to think she doesn't want to be a part of the Baby-sitters Club. Maybe with her new friend Jessi she'll start a club of her own...

It's time to show those Baby-sitters what a couple of new girls can do!

#15 Little Miss Stoneybrook...and Dawn

"Everybody in Stoneybrook has gone beauty-pageant crazy!"

Dawn's a little jealous when there's a formal ceremony to welcome Jessi and Mallory into the Baby-sitters Club. Don't people know that Dawn's a special baby-sitter, too?

Then it's Dawn's turn to shine. Mrs. Pike wants to Dawn to help prepare Margo and Claire for the Little Miss Stoneybrook contest. So what if Margo's only talent is peeling a banana with her feet? Dawn's going to help her charges win that contest any way she can.

The only trouble is...Kristy, Mary Anne, and Claudia are helping Karen, Myriah, and Charlotte enter the contest, too. And nobody's sure where the competition is fiercer: at the pageant- or at the Baby-sitters Club!

#16 Jessi's Secret Language

"Jessi's learning a secret language for a very special child."

Jessi knows a secret language! She learned it from Matt Braddock, the Baby-sitters' newest charge. Matt's been deaf since birth, and he uses sign language to speak. Since Jessi's Matt's baby-sitter, she has to use sign language, too.

Soon all the kids in Stoneybrook want to learn to sign...which keeps the Baby-sitters busy. Jessi's the busiest of all: she's working on another super secret, just for Matt.

Will Jessi be able to keep the secret and pull of her special event? Of course she will- she's a member of the Baby-sitters Club!

#17 Mary Anne's Bad-Luck Mystery

"When is Mary Anne's bad luck going to end?"

Mary Anne should never have thrown away that chain letter she got in the mail. Ever since she did, bad things have been happening- to everybody in the Baby-sitters Club. With Halloween coming up, Mary Anne's even more worried- what kind of spooky thing will happen next?

Then Mary Anne finds a new note in her mailbox. Wear this bad-luck charm, it says, OR ELSE. Mary Anne's got to do what the note says. But who sent the charm? And why did they send it to Mary Anne?

If the Baby-sitters don't solve this mystery soon, their bad luck might never stop!

#18 Stacey's Mistake

"Stacey has never been so wrong in her life!"

Stacey's so excited! She's invited her friends from the Baby-sitters Club down to New York City for a long weekend. It's going to be perfect- a party and a sleepover Friday night, a big baby-sitting job on Saturday, and lots of sightseeing on Sunday.

But what a mistake! The Baby-sitters are way out of place in the big city. Mary Anne sounds like a walking guide book; Dawn's afraid of everything; Kristy can't keep her mouth shut; and Claudia's jealous of Stacey's friends.

Does this mean Stacey can't be the Baby-sitters' friend anymore? Will the Baby-sitters Club fall apart?

1988

1996

#19 Claudia and the Bad Joke

"This is one practical joke that really backfired!"

Claudia's not worried when she hears her newest baby-sitting charge, Betsy Sobak, is a great practical joker. After all, how much harm can one little girl do?

Plenty. Claudia breaks her leg as a result of one of Betsy's mean jokes...and now she's talking about quitting the club. "Baby-sitting," she says, "is just too dangerous." Kristy thinks Betsy needs to be taught a lesson. She also thinks the Baby-sitters are just the ones to do it.

Watch out, Betsy Sobak! The joke war is on!

#20 Kristy and the Walking Disaster

"Guess which one's the walking disaster!"

They're lean, mean, they're the pride of Stoneybrook. Who are they? They're Kristy's Krushers!

When Kristy sees how much her little brothers and sister want to play on a softball team, she starts a rag-tag team of her own. Maybe Kristy's Krushers aren't world champions (how could they be, with Jackie Rodowsky, walking disaster, playing for them?), but nobody beats them when it comes to team spirit.

Now Bart's Bashers have challenged the Krushers to a real live game. It's bad enough that the Bashers truly are lean and mean- but what's worse is that Kristy has a crush on the Basher's coach. A crush with a capital C!

Animorphs Main Series: Books #1-10

"We can't tell you who we are.
Or where we live.
It's too risky, and we've got to be careful.
Really careful.
So we don't trust anyone.
Because if they find us...
well, we just won't let them find us.

The thing you should know
is that everyone is in really big trouble.
Yeah.
Even you."

#1 The Invasion

"Some people never change.
Some do..."

Sometimes weird things happen to people.

Ask Jake. He may tell you about the night he and his friends saw the strange light in the sky. He may even tell you about what happened when they realized the "light" was only a plane- from another planet. Here's where Jake's story gets a little weird. It's where they're told that the human race is under attack- and given the chance to fight back.

Now Jake, Rachel, Cassie, Tobias, and Marco have the power to morph into any animal they choose. And they must use that power to outsmart an evil that is greater than anything the world has ever seen....

1996

2011

#2 The Visitor

"No one knows who they are."

If someone told you Earth was under a silent attack, there's a good chance you'd think they were pretty strange. If that same person said Earth's only means of defense depends on the actions and powers of five kids, you'd probably start to look for a quick exit. Guess what? It's all true.

Rachel and her friends knew they were in for some pretty strange stuff from the very beginning. How often do you run into a dying alien who gives you the power to morph into any animal you touch? But that was before they knew what they would be up against. Now they know. And they know what they have to do. Before it's too late...

1996

2011

#3 The Encounter

"Now you seem them.
Now you don't..."

When Tobias, Jake, Rachel, Marco, and Cassie were given the ability to morph, they were also given one very important warning: Never stay in a morph for more than two hours. It seemed a small price to pay, since the kids know that humans everywhere are being forced to let slimy, spineless creatures creep into their brains. And the only way the kids can fight back is not to be human.

But Tobias stayed in his morph too long. And now he's a hawk- with a boy's mind- forever. Tobias knows they can't give up. That they all made a promise. So now it's four kids and a hawk against a force that is determined to destroy them. Or die trying...

1996

2011

#4 The Message

"Sometimes you have to change a little more than your mind...."

It all started with the dreams. But Cassie didn't pay much attention to them. She and her friends had all been having weird dreams ever since they'd first learned to morph. Maybe it was just some crazy side effect.

That's when Cassie discovers that Tobias has been having the exact same dreams. Dreams about the ocean. And a strange feeling that someone is calling to them. Calling for help.

Now Cassie, Tobias, Jake, Rachel, and Marco have to figure out if the dreams are a message- or a trap. And if it is a trap, it could mean the end- for everyone....

1996

2011

#5 The Predator

"What you see isn't always what you get...."

Marco never wanted to be an Animorph. He never wanted the ability to change into any animal he touches. He just wants to chill. Whatever happens, happens.

Jake, Rachel, Cassie, and Tobias know why Marco feels the way he does. He's worried about his dad- the only family Marco has left. And if anything happens to him, his father will be all alone.

But something is about to change Marco's mind. It seems the Yeerks have a little surprise waiting for him. And it's definitely not nice.

Now Marco has a reason to fight....

1996

2011

#6 The Capture

"Now, he's one of them...."

It was really bad when Jake found out his older brother was one of them. It was even worse when Tobias stayed in his morph too long. But nothing compares to the horror the Animorphs are about to face. Nothing.

Jake, Rachel, Tobias, Cassie and Marco have a feeling they know where the Yeerks' new base is located. And they've even figured out how to get in- how many people will really notice a few flies on the wall? But they never figured that they might get caught. Or that Jake could fall into the Yeerk pool. That Jake could become a human-Controller.

A Yeerk.
The enemy.

1997

2012

#7 The Stranger

"This time there may be no way out...."

Okay. Rachel and the other Animorphs have finally found the new entrance to the Yeerk pool. They've even figured out a way to sneak in. The infamous roach morph. But they didn't count on roaches being a Taxxon delicacy. This time escape doesn't look so good.

And then everything stops. Everything. The feasting Taxxon, the human-Controllers, the Hork-Bajir. Time. Now Rachel, Cassie, Marco, Jake, Tobias, and Ax are in for their wildest trip ever. They're going to get the chance to decide whether they want to stay on Earth and fight the Yeerks. Or go to another planet. And the guy giving them the choice says he can save them. Now all they have to do is make the choice....

1997

2012

#8 The Alien

"He's only human.
When he wants to be...."

What would you do if you were the only alien trapped on a strange planet? Probably freak out, right? But as an Andalite warrior-cadet, Ax has to be pretty cool about stuff like that. He's been hanging with the Animorphs ever since the Dome ship was destroyed by the Yeerks and his brother, Prince Elfangor, was destroyed by Visser Three.

Life on Earth is pretty different for Ax. But there is one thing he, Cassie, Marco, Jake, Rachel, and Tobias have in common. Something that one alien, four kids, and a hawk know they have to do: stop the Yeerks....

1997

2012

#9 The Secret

"No place to run.
No place to hide..."

There's something pretty weird going on in the woods behind Cassie's house. The place where Ax and Tobias call home. It seems the Yeerks have figured out one very important thing: Andalites cannot survive without a feeding ground. Visser Three knows the "Andalite bandits" don't feed where he does, so there can only be one other place.

Now Cassie, Marco, Jake, Rachel, Tobias, and Ax have to figure out a way to stop a bogus logging camp. Because if Visser Three finds Ax in the woods, nothing will stop him from finding the Animorphs....

1997

#10 The Android

"Fear has a new name....Yeerk."

When Marco runs into his old friend Erek he doesn't think too much of it. He's got a couple of more important things to do. Like helping to save the world. But then Marco finds out Erek's been hanging with the kids at The Sharing. And he starts to think that something just a little weird is going on.

So Marco, Jake, and Ax decide to morph and check old Erek out. Just to see if he's been infested with a Yeerk. The good news is that Erek's not a human-Controller. The bad news is that Erek's not even human....
